Nars Blush

Nars Blush

On my first trip to the States a year and a half ago, I splashed out on my first ever Nars blush. It has been love ever since and when I went back to Florida in January, there was no doubt in my mind that I would pick up another. Of course, Nars blushes are available here but cost €30 while in the US, they retail for $30 – approximately €21! Now that is some saving and doesn’t make me feel half as guilty about my purchase.

Torrid and Deep Throat

Torrid and Deep Throat

The first blush I purchased was ‘Deep Throat’ and this time around I had my eye out for ‘Douceur’ or even the infamous ‘Orgasm’ but both were sold out so I ended up going for ‘Torrid’.

Nars Blush - Deep Throat

‘Deep Throat’

Deep Throat

This is described as a ‘flirty, sheer peach’.  I am totally obsessed with this shade and I may even go so far as to say that this is my favourite blush ever. It leaves a gorgeous peach glow to the skin that livens up my whole complexion. In the pan it does look like it may have glitter in it but on the skin it just translates as a sheen leaving it healthy looking. The best part is how buildable the blush is. It applies quite sheer but can easily be layered to as subtle or full-on a finish you require. I find it absolutely foolproof as the nature of it means it never looks too heavy.

'Torrid'

‘Torrid’

Torrid

This is described as a warm coral with golden shimmer which I find quite interesting. To me, in the pan, it looks matte and on the skin I definitely do not feel like it leaves the same glow as ‘Deep Throat’. As it is a matter formula, I also find that it applies heavier and so it is easier to apply too much. The colour itself is gorgeous though -a slightly darker peach than ‘Deep Throat’ that would also look incredible on medium to dark skin tones. While I am a fan of ‘Torrid’, I don’t think I would put it up there in my favourite blushes alongside ‘Deep Throat’.

The differing textures of these blushes feel like completely different products altogether and it is hard to believe that they are both in the same line by the same brand. While I definitely do not think ‘Torrid’ is a bad blush – I absolutely cannot fault – all of the things I adore about ‘Deep Throat’ – the glow it adds to the skin and the buildable but sheer pigmentation are not there in ‘Torrid’. I will definitely buy more Nars blushes in the future – particularly if I’m in the US and can get them at such a good price but I think I will be on the look out for formulas more akin to ‘Deep Throat’.

What do you think? Have you tried Nars blush? What is your favourite? And have you noticed a difference between shades?
