Well it has been two weeks since my last Friday Face post but fret not, the Glamour Nazi website is full of selfies galore once again. Today’s look is the type I rarely do – a bold eye AND lip combo but I love it so who cares about makeup “rules”?!
I began by priming my skin with Benefit’s The POREfessional to blur all of my pores and imperfections. I then went in with my Revlon Colorstay Foundation on my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and covered any blemishes with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I finished with a light dusting of my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder over my T-zone. Since receiving one for Christmas, I have fallen back in love with its staying power and added coverage.
My brows have become a three step routine. I start off by combing them through with the spoolie from my Benefit Instant Brow Pencil – the best spoolie I have ever used! I then fill in the front of my brow with my NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder and comb Benefit’s Gimme Brow through the rest. Despite all of the products, this routine takes less time than simply filling them in with powder as there is less precision involved.
For eyeshadow, I used a small NYX Smokey Eye palette that I got for Christmas. It has a mix of greys and blacks and has made me remember how much I adore grey eyeshadows. None of the shades have names so I started with a frosty white on the inner corner as a bright highlight. I then took the palest grey all over the lid, added a darker grey in the crease and added black to the very outer V as well as underneath the eye for a very smokey look. I applied my Inglot Gel Liner on my upper and lower waterlines along with my upper lashline and added some of my Maybelline Volum’Express The Falsies Black Drama Mascara to my lashes.
I contoured with my usual Sleek Face Contour Kit and applied a touch of my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in ‘Doll Face’ as the lips and eyes were so strong that I wanted a very soft cheek. I then added my Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Color in ‘Stoplight Red’ to finish.
I was really happy with the finished result and wouldn’t hesitate to rock a strong eye and lip again. In fact, this inspired a look I wore on a night out a few days later where I sported an even darker lip.
