Today’s face is one you may have seen over on Beaut.ie! What do you mean you haven’t read the two articles I’ve posted over there? Go! Go! Go! I may have gotten some eyeshadow in my eye so if you notice it is a little bloodshot, please ignore. I have been trying not to use my Naked 3 palette after I showed you five looks with it a few weeks back but oops I did it again.
I began by running my Maybelline The Eraser Eye over any patches of redness or blemishes on my face. I then went in with my Revlon Colorstay Foundation in ‘Ivory’ on my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge before finishing up with a touch of Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer underneath the eyes. This was a funny day because I actually forgot to powder my skin! Only when I had finished my entire makeup did I realise. My skin has been a little dry lately and the powder has been sitting a little heavy on it so I ended up just dusting a little of my Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder down my nose when I was done. The Revlon Colorstay actually has a demi-matte finish anyway so this was just me being overcautious. I really liked how my skin looked – so much healthier and more alive than it has done in ages!
On my brows, I used my Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in ‘Deep’, followed by my NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in ‘Black/Gray’ and going in with my spoolie to brush them through several times during the application. I love how defined they are looking when I use these two products together!
I started the eyes by using my Maybelline Color Tattoo in 24K Gold which is a really yellow gold. I was quite shocked by the colour and definitely did not want to add a gold powder eyeshadow on top as I knew it would be very bright. Which is how I came to be using my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette again where I topped it off with lots of ‘Dust’, the flaky, sparkly pink. An unlikely pairing but I actually loved how it turned out. It almost looked like a duochrome – sometimes the yellow gold was more obvious, sometimes the pink was. I went in with ‘Nooner’, the dark matte taupe in my crease and buffed out the edges with ‘Limit’, a lighter matte taupe. I added ‘Strange’, a satin cream shade underneath my brow and on the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them. I finished up by adding a touch of ‘Blackheart’, a black with red reflects, to the outer corner and all the way underneath my eye. I lined my upper and lower waterline with my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in ‘Perversion’ and drew on my flick using my Inglot Gel Liner in ’77 Matte Black’. I finished the eyes with lots of my Maybelline Volum’Express The Falsies Mascara.
I used my Sleek Face Contour Kit to add definition underneath my cheekbones and to my temples and then went for my Catrice Defining Blush in ‘Rose Royce’ which I have become OBSESSED with lately and wear daily. On my lips is that dreaded Wet n Wild Liquid Lip Color in ‘Back To The Fuschia’ that I blogged about yesterday but I took it off shortly after the photos were taken.
What do you think? Are you still using your Naked 3? Do you ever come up with odd colour combinations that magically work?!
