Last month, I received an amazing hamper of goodies from La Roche Posay as a Christmas gift and I was absolutely bowled over. They even included a personalised mug with my name on it! Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find anything with ‘Dani’ on it?! I was even more delighted with all of the included products as I am such a huge fan of the brand. I probably don’t even need to tell you that. One of the products that I have dived straight into is this Nutritic Intense Riche.
The Nutritic range is designed for those with dry or very dry skin and so at first, I was a little worried about using it on my combination skin. With the colder weather, however, my skin has dried out quite a bit and can feel quite tight after showering or removing my makeup. I also had a few flaky breakouts on my cheeks near my nose.
They call this an in-depth, nutri-reconstituting cream but I just call it a moisturiser because I’m down to earth like that. It is designed to nourish and “reconstitute” the superior layers of the epidermis. Basically it is supposed to soothe and relieve dry, cracked and sore skin and with continued use, nourish it. They also do another product called Nutritic Intense which comes in a tube and is basically, a less hardcore version of this one. This ‘Riche’ version is super strength moisturisation.
Of course, that is why I was terrified of it at first. My skin wasn’t falling off in lumps or sore at all. I was very concerned that it would be oily, greasy and break me out.
In the jar, it looks like your regular white cream and is virtually odourless although what you can smell is clean and pleasant as opposed to chemical-y.
I was quite alarmed when I stuck my finger in to find that it was quite hard. Well, not hard exactly but it didn’t move easily without a little pressure. This is quite thick and not as creamy as I had imagined. Despite that, it applies easily and I can actually feel my skin drinking it up. I usually apply it and then run my hands over my face to see where it has absorbed fastest, adding a little more to these areas as obviously they need the nourishment.
This absorbs quickly, despite its thick formula and it leaves behind no sticky or greasy residue. Instead, skin feels nourished and healthy. I have even applied it just before my makeup several times and it has had no negative effects whatsoever.
I love this product. It has become my new go-to moisturiser and was featured in yesterday’s Beauty Awards post. This is the reason I love La Roche Posay; their products are no-fuss – the packaging is simple, there are no gimmicks, they just WORK. A 40ml jar will set you back €20.49 but I guarantee that with its thick formula, a little goes a long way and it will last you a long time. I will definitely be repurchasing this.
What do you think? Have you tried this? Or anything else in the Nutritic range? What’s your daily moisturiser?
