Birthday Haul

With today being my birthday, I thought I would upload some of the makeup bits that I received. I had some family over on Thursday night for a little celebration and they insisted I opened my presents then and there which is why I got them a little early. You may recognise some of these bits from my mega Beauty Wish List post, looks like it got shared around the whole family! I will, of course, be doing full reviews with swatches etc. in the coming weeks so this is sort of like a taster of what is to come on the blog.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

First up is the glorious Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette which Boyfriend kindly gifted to me. I may have had a slight inkling that this was on the way when he mentioned the release date to me in passing but I have been coveting this so badly, I was relieved that I could rest easy in the fact that it would soon be in my possession. The beauty world is split over whether or not we really needed another Naked palette but my love for rosy tones means this has the ability to be my favourite yet!

Urban Decay Ocho Loco 2

Another Urban Decay product, the Ocho Loco 2 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil set was from my younger sister, along with an anecdote about the shop assistant not being able to pronounce it, calling it ‘Ocko Locko’ (and wearing terrible makeup!) I am super excited to try out these eight full-length pencils – four of which are exclusive to this set. They all look so wearable and I cannot wait to test the ultimate blackness that is ‘Perversion’, a blogger favourite. The set also includes ‘Grindhouse’, a pencil sharpener that for some reason, people go crazy for. I must know why!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks

Finally from Urban Decay (I wonder if they did a joint shopping trip), my cousin picked me up two of the new Revolution lipsticks. I have had my eye on these since their release and all reviews I have read have been in their favour. These are ‘Anarchy’, a bright fuschia and ‘Jilted’, a deeper fuschia with a blue sheen. I already have plans to wear ‘Jilted’ alongside my Naked 3 Palette to work today. I cannot wait to get stuck in.

Inglot Eyeshadow Palette

My final makeup gift was this Inglot Eyeshadow palette from my mother. Look at how glorious it is! It is definitely the most wearable one that I own, although I think I will be mix and matching it a little with my other ones. I made a giant list of shadows I was after and she simply chose ten to make this up. In case you are curious, the top row are 08, 21, 40, 327 and 344. The bottom row is comprised of 353, 358, 359, 406 and 475. There is going to be some stiff competition between this and Naked 3 for prize of place on my eyes!

I cannot post a birthday haul without mentioning my new friend, Snowflake. I came home from work on Tuesday to find this little guy hanging around the apartment, another gift from Boyfriend. He is eight weeks old, pure white with no other markings, half Persian and a huge fan of Christmas FM. If you are as much of a crazy cat lady as I suddenly have become since his arrival, check out my Instagram for millions of photos of him!

What do you think? Are any of these on your Christmas wishlist?

  1. I can’t get over how cute Snowflake is! What a little darling. Be prepared for his hair to get absolutely everywhere, including on stuff that’s never even been in your home 🙂 Is he deaf? Does he have blue eyes? Happy birthday!

    • He’s not deaf and no, he has green eyes. I’ve had a lot of people asking questions like that haha but no he’s perfect. He actually hasn’t shed at all yet but I’d imagine we’ll have a major problem in summer!

      • Ah, my parents have a white-haired, blue-eyed little guy and he’s a rarity, apparently. They’re usually deaf. And his hair gets literally everywhere, so be prepared! Lots more pics please 🙂

      • Yeah, he is only half Persian which is why I think he’s okay. We had to give him a bath the other day and there was a lot of shedding! Luckily, we have a leather couch and few carpets in the apartment!
