Precious Polish Beautiful Blogger Collection

I had yet to get around to telling you about Precious Polish – the new Irish nail polish brand set up by my lovely fellow blogger, Anita from Anita’s Beauty Spot. However, I can’t frickin’ wait any longer! I love indie brands, I love Irish made products and most of all, I love Anita so I couldn’t be more excited about the brand. Oh wait, I could….

She has just released the Beautiful Blogger Collection, a collaboration with some Irish beauty bloggers and yes, I am one of them. I was allowed to choose custom colours to create my own nail polish and she named it after me!

Precious Polish Beautiful Bloggers Collection

The first polish in the collection is Cuti-CLUE-les which is a stunning deep blue with lots of silver glitter particles. I adore the cobalt colour which is very ‘in’ right now.

Next up is Girl Friday, a pale silver with miniscule glitter. This, to me, is very reminiscent of Illamasqua’s infamous ‘Raindrops’.

The third colour over is Not Just Inside, a hot fuschia pink with pink glitter. This is the ultimate girly polish and from what I’ve seen on Twitter, seems to be the reigning favourite.

Rara Giggles is a metallic green. The colour is so ununsual I am having a hard time describing it and while I’m not a huge fan of the colour green in general, I am loving this!

Skipping to the last polish, The Nail Affair is another gorgeous blue – a lighter and less vibrant shade than Cuti-CLUE-less. Blue has been a hugely popular nail varnish lately so in reality, you need to buy both anyway.

And finally, the middle polish in the bottom row is The Glamour Nazi. MINE! Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Precious Polish - The Glamour Nazi

I am OBSESSED with this beautiful seafoam green colour complete with chunky silver glitter, least of all because it has my name on it. Anita recommends three coats with a base and top coat but as I’m a bit of a rebel (Read: lazy), I simply painted on two coats with no top or base coat. It was still fully opaque and beautiful on the nails. Even Boyfriend commented that it was a cool colour and that was without my coaxing.

Because of the chunky glitter, I was terrified that the wear time on this would be awful. I have recently gotten a new job and because of it, my nails have become destroyed. They are literally shattering a little more each day and have broken so far down that it is painful. My China Glaze polishes couldn’t last a day but this managed two before starting to chip pretty badly. Two days for me must be like ten days for normal people! And because you are probably curious, when you run your finger over the nail, you CAN feel the texture of the glitter however it wasn’t unpleasant. It didn’t feel gritty but rather, just textured. Although, as with all glitter polishes, it isn’t the easiest to remove. I managed to get it off with a little extra elbow grease and my normal remover.

In all, I couldn’t be more impressed. To think of Anita making all of these by hand by herself, the quality is brilliant and the colours are stunning. If I couldn’t choose my own, I couldn’t possibly pick my favourite out of this collection – I really want to try the other five! They retail at €8 each with free shipping, although Anita is now offering registered post for an extra €2.50 if you are worried about your order getting lost.

There is so much more to come from this brand and I am bubbling with excitement at the very thought so I can only imagine how Anita feels. Keep your eyes peeled for the forthcoming Christmas collection ‘Not So Silent Night’ and check out the new Custom Polish option on the website if you are feeling creative. Precious Polish is available on the website here. You can also keep up to date with them on Facebook and Twitter. And while you’re at it, ensure you check out the blogs of the other bloggers featured in the collection which I have linked to above.

What do you think? Which is your favourite? Will you be giving these a go?
