You may remember a few days ago, I reviewed a Regenerative Cellular Repair Cream from new natural Irish skin care brand, Irish Rain. Today’s review is another product that I received from them – the Revitalising Facial Oil.
It comes in a beautiful hot pink glass bottle with a rubber dropper which is great as it saves on mess. Particularly with oil-type products, I find that it is so easy to disperse too much and the nature of the product means that it can then get everywhere and can stain which is a nightmare. The dropper gives you far more control and one drop of this is probably enough to do your entire face, meaning this small bottle will last you AGES.
This oil smells beautiful but being all natural, there are no nasty, drying perfumed ingredients. It contains a blend of sandalwood – to calm and soothe, cardamom – which is antibacterial and heals, as well as lavender – to promote cell growth, and it is the combination of these that gives it its beautiful scent.
It also contains rosehip oil which is a dry oil that sinks easily into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, vitamin C, Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids which heal scar tissue, and retinoic acid which evens skin tone and reduces skin spots. I haven’t been using the product long enough to see any real long term benefits but I have been adoring its hydrating and moisturising effects.
As it is an oil, it feels luxurious on the skin as it absorbs. I usually apply it before bed to give it plenty of time to sink in and I awaken in the morning with soft, supple and beautifully moisturised skin. I really feel like this quenches my skin’s thirst. It claims to restore vitality to dull skin and I have to agree that this gives my skin a new lease of life.
This is a product I look forward to using every evening as a part of my skin care routine. Despite it being revitalising for your skin, I find the scent really relaxing (I assume it’s the lavender) and who wouldn’t sleep better knowing that they would awaken with gorgeous skin?
A 30ml bottle of this will set you back €19.99 – not a huge price for a little luxury – and as I stated, one drop will do your entire face so this will last you the longest time! It is available from the Irish Rain website.
What do you think? Are you a fan of facial oils? Will you be giving this a go?
